Reno Finally Started!!

Reno finally started officially on 11 June 2007!! As we have alot of hacking work...hack floor, hack wall, EVERYTHING!! even the bomb shelter floor also hack! wat the heck!! keke.....

Disappointing initial 3D perpectives

Finally on 19 April 2007, our ID Nick, presented us with his "great works". Yes! The very first drawing he did for us base on our expectations were out....but..........not to our expectations...we thought it was too plain?!?!hmmm....

FS???

Wondering what FS means??? hehe.....it means feng shui! Yes, it may seen very unnecessary as I'm a very MODERN person.. But since hubby thought it would be good to let our house be seen by a FSM, as FS can help to retain peace and harmony in the family, I thought, why not!! =p

After much consideration, we engaged Dong Nong Zheng, with Manhui's (my butty...hehe...=p) recommendation...She keep "promoting" how good he is. So there goes...yes....$$$ again.. But I think it's money well spent lar...

Basically, the FSM gave us several pieces of info such as the wall colours, what specific items to place at specific places blah blah blah....& luckily, nothing that's too orbit which doesn't fit into our modern contemporary theme!

In Search of U

With the house and everything in place, the next thing we got ourselves busy was ID-searching.

ID-searching was NEVER fun..except for the part where we got to see pics of other people's places..It was truly an experience.

We started to go to IMM as recommended by Elaine (Jeremin's sister). She told us there were many ID firms there...We had also been to the EXPO for the exhibitions.. After many many visits to IMM & the EXPO for almost every weekends and sometimes weekdays for almost 1 month plus, we strike a deal with the first ID we met at IMM..=p

We signed the contract on 31 March and paid a 10% deposit....=( pocket BIG BIG hole...HAHAHA

Dreams come true

We finally got our keys on 7 March 2007. It was truly a dream come true as both of us having been house hunting since 2005. It was truly an amazing feeling! On 16 March, we finally had our "opening ceremony" on this extremely GOOD date...

Our previous owner is an angmoh with a Singaporean wife. Hence the house was pretty well-mantained. The previous owners also helped us to refurbish the whole house...hehe =p

Welcome to our Reno Blog...

After years of balloting, we finally found our "lovenest" in the last WIS in February 2007. Could still remember how Jeremin told me about his experience of "rushing" down to get the queue number upon reading about the WIS from the newspaper. Despite knowing about this great news at 7am++, and driving at an "extremely high speed", our queue number stands at 423..hmmm.......

For the very coming weekend, we went to many many estates to view the possible choices. It was an extremely tiring and tedious job! We had been to Jalan Membina, Kim Tian, Tampines, Toa Payoh....At last, at the very night before our HDB appointment, we simply drove conveniently to Bedok Reservoir View. We thought we LOVE the estate as it was quiet and serene.....Hence, a choice was made!!

It was a corner 5 Room flat which stands at 115sqm. The layout is quite longgish from the layout plan provided by the HDB booklet. To prove ourselves, we visited our 12th floor neighbour...hehe...to take a look at their apartment...
